MARKET ANIMAL PROCESSING

Change of ownership of the animals sold will take place at 4:00PM on the Sunday after the sale. Animals must be slaughtered at a predetermined time and place chosen by the Livestock Committee.

The majority of buyers will prefer to have their purchase processed, cut, and wrapped ready for freezing. A nominal charge will be added for processing and the packer will charge for cutting and wrapping. Details will be handed out at the sale.

Your Keep Cost will include:

I WON THE BID WHAT'S NEXT?

If your bid wins the animal, you have a few options to choose from:

OPTION 1

Pay the total bid price and keep the meat for your own use. (To be slaughtered and wrapped at a predetermined professional butcher.)

OPTION 2

Pay the support money ONLY and turning the animal over to the Market Livestock Committee. The Committee will then market the animal through normal marketing channels and that purchaser will pay the remaining balance on the animal (the market price.)

OPTION 3

* Applies to market Ewes ONLY

Market ewes may be purchased at the bid price and taken home. These breeding animals may not be taken to another youth market animal sale. The intent is to return the ewes to production.

BUYING A TURNED MARKET ANIMAL

Not bidding in the Market Animal sale? You can still purchase a market animal through the "Turned Market Animal List." The list will be available Thursday at Noon. Contact Amanda Driver at 509-671-2422 if you are interested in purchasing a turned market animal.

**Turn List buyers must pay in full by Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 2:00pm. Price is calculated at Friday's market price per pound + kill shot + cut + wrap.

PRIVATE TREATY

Some animals may be available to purchase out of the barn. Contact the barn superintendent if you are interested in purchasing a market animal from a showman. The Market Livestock Committee will haul the animal to your selected butcher, unless notified otherwise.
